Classic Design Kitchens has been designing and installing kitchens since 1994. Our showroom on Dalhousie Road has been our home for the past ten years, and it is the fourth showroom we have occupied, including sixteen years on Union Street in Broughty Ferry.
The business began building flat pack furniture in a garage. Today it is one of the most established kitchen showrooms in the area and an authorised partner for Nolte Küchen, one of Germany’s largest and most respected kitchen manufacturers. You can read more about us.
Why Experience Matters at This Level of Investment
A considered kitchen is a significant commitment. Our projects typically begin around £25,000, and a full scheme with specified appliances and stone surfaces will often sit higher.
At that level, who you appoint matters as much as what you buy. Kitchen retailers open, rebrand and disappear. Kitchens we installed fifteen years ago are still in daily use, and we are still here to service them.
Accredited at the Highest Level
We hold five star Master Partner status with Neff, the highest tier the manufacturer awards. It is not a badge that can be bought. It requires ongoing product training and is granted only to a small number of UK retailers, which means the advice you receive on appliance specification comes from people who have been formally trained on the products rather than reading from a brochure.
Alongside Neff we display the Siemens Studio Line range, Bora downdraft extraction and Quooker instant boiling water taps. These are specified regularly rather than occasionally, and the showroom displays are live, so you can use them before you commit to them. See the full appliance range.
Nolte Küchen: German Engineering, Properly Specified
We specialise in Nolte Küchen because the engineering justifies the position. Cabinet carcasses are manufactured to tolerances that allow genuinely handleless fronts to sit with consistent shadow gaps, and drawer runners are rated for decades of use rather than years.
The Nolte and Nolte Neo ranges cover matt lacquer, textured woodgrain, glass and ceramic fronts, with a colour palette deep enough that most schemes never need to compromise.
Designing for Broughty Ferry Homes
Broughty Ferry has an unusually varied housing stock, and each type asks a different question of a kitchen designer.
The Victorian and Edwardian villas around Camphill Road and West Queen Street offer generous ceiling heights and original proportions worth respecting. Tall cabinetry can work beautifully here, but cornice lines and window reveals need careful handling.
Post war and nineteen sixties properties towards Claypotts and Barnhill more often call for structural thinking, such as removing a wall between kitchen and dining room to create the open plan space the original layout never allowed for.
Coastal properties along the Esplanade bring their own considerations around light, salt air and finish durability.

How We Work
Design begins with a conversation rather than a catalogue. We want to understand how you cook, how often you entertain, and how the kitchen connects to the rest of the house.
We survey the property ourselves and produce a considered design with elevations and finish samples. Installation is carried out by the same fitting teams we have worked with for years, directly managed by us throughout, which is the single largest factor in how a finished kitchen actually looks.
